Presenter: Dr. Laureen Hachem
Biography: Dr. Laureen Hachem is currently a third-year resident in the Division of Neurosurgery at the University of Toronto. She completed her medical training at the University of Toronto, after beginning her undergraduate studies in neurosciences there, as well. Her research focuses on regenerative strategies to enhance plasticity in the injured central nervous system and specifically examining the mechanisms of endogenous neural stem/progenitor cell activation after traumatic spinal cord injury. In July she will begin her PhD under the supervision of Dr. Michael Fehlings and co-supervision of Dr. Charles Tator.
